First layer of planking/
Перший шар обшивки
2-1 Most kits have bulkhead parts with pre-cut gunports to facilitate the building process:
- If not, go to the next step;
- Install all bulwarks parts in place according to the instructions or drawings.
2-1 Більшість комплектів має деталі фальшборту з вже вирізаними гарматними портами, щоб полегшити процес будівництва:

2-2 Making the first layer of planking
- If the kit does not provide a two-layer planking, go to the next chapter;
- For making the first layer of planking it is better to use wood glue PVA that will provide reliability and durability of the hull. As it will not be visible - the planking can be attach in any order "as the plank lays down". You will need small nails and a nail pusher to securely press the planks to the bulkheads.
Advice/Порада: Small nails for planking are 1/2" sewing pins which can be found at any sewing store./Маленькі цвяхи для обшивки - це швейні шпильки 1\2", які можна придбати в будь-якому швейному магазині.
2-2 Влаштування першого шару обшивки:
- Якщо в комплекті непередбачено двошарової обшивки переходьте до наступного розділу;
- Для влаштування першого шару обшивки краще використовувати столярний клей ПВА, що забезпечить надійність і міцність корпусу. Так як її не буде видно - обшивку можна вкладати в довільному порядку "як лягає дошка". Для надійного притискання рейок до перебірок каркасу, вам знадобляться маленькі цвяхи та гвоздарь.

* The first layer of planking is a great opportunity to practice before making the finish layer - so you can try to mark the correct planking and try to make a "drop plank" and "stealer".
* Перший шар обшивки це чудова нагода попрактикуватися перед влаштуванням чистової - тому на ній можна розбити розмітку обшивку і спробувати "скинути дошку" та влаштувати "викрадача".
